3 dimensional space is the forte of Marvin Lorne Smith (Sculptor/Musician/Writer). His are functional and innovative designs in indoor and outdoor furniture and sculptures, household fixtures and musical instrument and artwork display stands. Marvin strives to incorporate reclaimed materials in unusual applications as much as possible. The medium is most often mild steel and reclaimed Australian timbers, but stone is another familiar element. The question begs to be asked:
which came first?.....the Funk or the Junk?
Marvin's works are held in various galleries around central Victoria. He was one of eight featured artists of the 2001 Melbourne Fringe Furniture Festival and is a frequent Exhibitor during Castlemaine Festivals such as the Castlemaine State Festival, The Buda Garden Festival, Mamunya and the Spirit Exhibitions in the Market Building. His one off works are currently held and for sale at the Pantechnicon Gallery in Daylesford and Culpepers Galleries in Maldon and Castlemaine.

Vivienne and Marvin are also both Musicians and together with friends have a well known local good time band

playing blues country and rock and roll with exuberance and flair.
